Obituary

Kurt J. Braunwald, age 90, of Brockton, died peacefully April 18, 2020 at Brockton Health Center. Kurt was the husband of the late Rhoda L. (Leslie) Braunwald. Born in Vienna, Austria on May 26, 1929, he was educated in London and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Kurt was a metallurgist for George Knight Company in Brockton.

He loved the outdoors and watching sports, especially the Patriots and Bruins.

Kurt was the father of Hope Medoff of Florida, Sheryl Kelly of Framingham, Joy Braunwald of South Carolina, Jodi Schoolcraft of Hudson and the late Faith Carpentiero. He was the grandfather of William and Robert Kelly, Philip Braunwald, John and Brittany Schoolcraft, Cassie and Cory Paoletti and the late Joseph Braunwald and had five great grandchildren.

A celebration of Kurt’s life will be held at a later date.
