Laura Veiga came into the world on October 10th, 1952. She passed away on January 2nd, 2022. She was born on the island of Fogo, Cape Verde, the daughter of Teresa Santos Andrade Martins and Joao Monteiro Martins. In 1973, Laura and her family came to the United States and made a new life for themselves. She was the sibling of four brothers, John Furtunato Martins, Manuel Nhambapinho Santos Martins, Pedro Santos Martins, Antonio Jesus Martins and one late sister, Maria Martins. In Boston, Massachusetts, she met the love of her life and husband, Antonio Veiga. Together they started a family of two daughters, Sandy Veiga, Malice Veiga, and one son, Tony Veiga and his wife Wilona Veiga.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Laura was a member of the Jubilee Christian Church. But since her youth, her life's journey was committed to the faith and guidance of Christ Jesus as her savior. She was an example of shared love with her family and friends that inspired other families and friends to share love and appreciation. We will remember Laura Veiga as a woman who embraced her faith and family with unequivocal devotion and love.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Tuesday, January 11 from 9:00-11:00 AM. Followed by a funeral service at 11, with Pastor Eric Durman officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 99 North Carey Street, Brockton.
