Obituary

Laverne M. (Nyberg) McKenna 90 years old of Middleboro died Tuesday September 6, 2011 at her home in Middleboro surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late George R. McKenna. Born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Oscar and Marguerite (McDonald) Nyberg, Laverne was a graduate of Brockton High School and lived in Brockton most of her life before moving to Middleboro 23 years ago.
Laverne was devoted to her home and family and will be remembered as a good and loving mom. In her free time she enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Marinelli of Middleboro with whom she made her home and her son David F. McKenna and his wife Linda of Falmouth. She leaves five granddaughters Lee McDonald, Lynne Marinelli, Lori Washburn, Kelly McKenna and Kristen Dusten and six great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Dorothy Powers and mother-in-law of the late Francis P. Marinelli, Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday September 8, 2011 in the Conley Funeral Home, Brockton with burial in St. Mary Cemetery in Randolph. Donations in Laverne’s name may be made to Old Colony Hospice One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368, for online donations click here
