It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of my very best friend, my beloved, Lawrence Edmund Harris, Larry to most of us. Larry died as he lived, Happy and free with family and friends in his life. We know that Larry touched so many lives through his love of family, friends, music, and pure captivating ability to have you laughing for days by changing into his alter ego, 'Charlie Murphy' and making jokes. He left his spirit on the hearts of many, many people.
Most of us knew he had been struggling with the debilitating effects of Asthma. It was the complications of Asthma that ultimately took his life. But Larry had the last laugh! With God's merciful blessing, Larry was able to choose where he wanted to leave his earthly body and move on to his new and 'indestructible' heavenly body. He didn't want his loved one's last memory of him to be in the hospital. He wanted to be remembered at 'Larry's place' doing 'Larry's thing'. If you knew Larry, you knew that his family and friends meant everything to him.
He leaves behind his mother, Cheryl Harris. His wife, Lisa Harris. His daughter's, Chrisondria Bryant and Eboni Edwards. His son's, Deon Harris, Jeffrey Harris, and Anthony Harris. His sister's, Shirrell Harris, Marina Saddie Harris and Patricia Harris. His brother, James Harris, along with his beautiful grandchildren, niece's, nephews. Beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Plus his sons & daughters-in-laws. Larry had too many wonderful and solid good friends to list. We all knew Larry could never stay in one place too long. He had friends from north to south and east to west. Whether or not he was in New York, Massachusetts, down south, or in another country, Larry knew somebody! That was his 'Gift'. So many of us looked to Larry to be our 'Rock'. That was because if there was anything you needed, Larry would be there for you to just lend a helping hand or listen and make you laugh. Not being able to pick up the phone and call him (on his MANY cell phones) is going to take time for many of us to adjust to. However, we will draw strength from his charismatic nature, Laughter from his Memory, and Hope with knowing we will see him again in heaven.
