Obituary

Lena J. (Strollo) Condon, age 95, of Brockton, died peacefully, surrounded by family, May 27, 2016 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Ernesto and Carmella (Napolitano) Strollo. Lena was a talented seamstress and for many years worked for various bridal salons and exclusive dress shops in Brockton. She was an avid knitter, and at the age of 92, knitted seven Irish knit sweaters.
Lena is survived by a son Richard Condon of Brockton; two daughters Jeanne Daxberger of Taunton and Patricia Klauer and her husband Kevin of Sandwich; six grandchildren Michael Daxberger and his wife Rita, Dennis and Joseph Daxberger, Kevin Klauer and his wife Meghan, Erin Klauer and Tara Condon and her husband Daniel Martin; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lena was the sister of the late Claude, James and William Strollo, Eva Alexander, Emma McCarthy and Nora Sepe and was the longtime companion of the late George Makepeace.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at both West Acres Nursing Home and Good Samaritan Medical Center for the kind and compassionate care shown to their mother.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 10-11am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
