Obituary

Leon G. Tougas, age 83 of Brockton, entered into heaven on Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Rita C. (Bussiere)Tougas. Leon was born in Pawtucket, RI and raised in Attleboro a son of the late Rene and Florence (LaPort) Tougas. He had lived in Brockton since 1955.
Leon was a machinist by trade and had worked at Repeating Arms gun manufacturer in Hingham and Independent Nail in Bridgewater. In his free time Leon enjoyed all animals, feeding and watching birds, tending his vegetable garden and traveling. Most importantly, Leon adored his grandchildren.
Leon was the loving father of Lynne Flores and her husband Peter of E. Bridgewater and Marie Tougas of Brockton. He leaves a “special daughter” Kimberly Peirce of Brockton, two grandchildren Ashley Flores of East Bridgewater and Anthony Flores of Arlington Heights, Illinois and many nieces and nephews. He was the last survivor of eight siblings.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday 2-5 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 am for a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, E. Bridgewater.
