Obituary

Leonora “Nora” Hernandez, age 51 of Rockland, died May 29, 2022, at the Brockton Hospital/Signature Healthcare. A daughter of Carmen Ortiz and the late Francisco Hernandez of Brockton as well as the stepdaughter of the late Eliezer T. Ortiz of Brockton.

Nora was a stay-at-home mother whose life revolved around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed drawing, singing, karaoke, fashion, and makeup. She will be remembered as an outspoken and honest woman who was caring and empathetic. She always lit up the room and was remembered by everyone she met. Nora was most proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

Leonora was the mother of Ronald Johnson Jr. of Brockton, Jaleesa Hernandez-Thomas of Rockland, and Cheyenne Shaw of Brockton. She leaves 4 grandchildren: Antonio Bautista, Myles McDowell, Phoenix Johnson, and Quinn Johnson as well as her siblings: Ivette Altieri of New Haven, CT, Rose-Marie Ortiz of New Jersey, Joanna Ortiz of New Jersey, Eliezer Ortiz Jr. of Chicago, IL, Frances Hernandez of Braintree, Dinah Hernandez of New Bedford, Elizabeth Ortiz of Brockton, and Noemi Velez of New Bedford.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton from 4-7 pm immediately followed by a funeral service.
