Obituary

Lillian M. (Nevitt) Dunphy, age 98, of Bangor, Maine, formerly of Brockton, died June 15, 2015 at Rose Manor in Bangor, Maine. Lillian was the wife of the late Thomas E. Dunphy. Raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alphonsine (Emond) Nevitt. For over 20 years, Lillian worked in the home goods department at Sears, and had also been a Dutchmade Clothing distributor. She was a lifetime communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed bowling, crochet, and bingo. She also loved to entertain, and her door was always open to both family and friends.
Lillian is survived by her children Michael Dunphy of Herman, ME and Joanne Vella of Bridgewater; six grandchildren; Joseph Vella, Dawn-Marie Sakillares, Kristen Grant, Michelle Dunphy, Colleen Bridges and Christopher Dunphy; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John Dunphy.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 8am for a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
