Our loving mother (Nanay), Lina Madrigal died peacefully on August 25, 2024 in our home 1 month before her 79th birthday, she had liver cancer and dementia we knew it was coming but not this quick. I am completely devastated and heart broken. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She was married to Rodolfo Madrigal for wonderful 56 years and raised 6 children; Junelyn Madrigal Bello, Vincent Madrigal, George Madrigal, Gina Madrigal Hammond, April Madrigal-Ly, and Bryan Madrigal. She left behind 7 grandchildren; Gerlyn Bello, Jessica Magturo, Jerrold Bello, Jon Regor Bello, Joan Marie Rosales, Nicole Hammond, and Angel Hammond. She also left behind 6 great grandchildren; Ieashia Lynuel Bello, Althea Marie Hitosis, Altenena Marie Histosis, Lord Jay Histosis, Karl Zia Magturo, and Carl Gabriel Magturo. Nanay is also survived by her in-laws, Roger Bello, Rosalio Hitosis III, Carl Joseph Magturo, Melvin Rosales, Paul Hammond, Wenny Uyan Madrigal, and Peter Ly as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Nanay was born to Veronica Grimaldo Postrado and Roque Regio Postrado of Marinduque, Philippines in 1945. She had 6 siblings; late Ignacio Grimaldo Postrado, Veronidia Grimaldo Postrado, Evelyn Grimaldo Postrado, Veneranda Postrado Eseque, Wilfredo Grimaldo Postrado, and Rene Grimaldo Postrado. She is a graduate of Our Mother Perpetual Succor Academy High School (OMPSA batch 1962) where she developed many lifelong friendships. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in Marinduque, Philippines leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. She continued her education at National Teachers College in 1967 where she earned a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Education then she also got her master at Manuel Louis Quezon University. She taught at 6 different Elementary schools (Timbo, Kay Duke, Bonliw, Matuyatuya Maranlig, and Padre Gomez) for 30 years. She was a great elementary teacher and mentor to many kids. Then she was promoted to librarian but she had to retire early because she was migrated to US.

She loved to dance (especially Zumba), pray, ate a lot of chips, Filipino pastries (especially puto and palitaw), and loved Filipino ice cream (mango flavor). She would travel across the world to spend time with family and friends when she missed them. In addition, she loved to party with family and friends.

She was full of love, laughter, kind, understanding, caring, thoughtful, and very religious and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a memorial service will be held in her honor at Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St, Brockton, MA 02301 on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman, a friend, a wife, and a mom.
