Paul

Lina Plaisimond Paul
December 14, 1924 – April 10, 2023
Lina Paul, née Plaisimond, widow of Gerard Paul, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023 at the age of 98 years at her home in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Born on December 14, 1924 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Lina was the only child of Melius Plaisimond and Cadeline Moreau. She completed her studies at Madame Honora and Elie Dubois, both educational institutions in Haiti.
At 19 years old, Lina met Gerard Paul and they married six years later. Together, they had eight children – five girls and 3 boys.
Lina was a truly remarkable woman who lived a life filled with faith, hope, and love. Throughout her time, she was a beacon of light and an inspiration to all those who knew her. Her unwavering faith in God and her commitment to her beliefs were truly awe-inspiring.
Faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived every moment with a sense of purpose and meaning. She believed that through her faith, she could overcome any obstacle and that her journey was guided by a divine hand. Her unwavering devotion to God was a guiding force that allowed her to live a long life of compassion, kindness, and selflessness. She believed that by serving others, she was serving God, and her actions were a testament to that belief.
Lina had accepted Christ and became a baptized member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1974. She was an active member of the deacon body at Horeb Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church in NY where she also served as a member of the community service department. Lina was also a member of the deacon body at the Temple Adventiste of Brockton.
In 1975, Lina joined Gerard in New York City. Throughout her life, Lina faced a number of health challenges. In 2012, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Later, she suffered a pulmonary embolism while receiving chemotherapy. In 2020, she caught the Covid-19 virus. Her family often joked that Lina was like a cat with nine lives.
Despite facing numerous health and other challenges throughout her long life, Lina has always shown incredible strength and courage in overcoming them all. Through sheer willpower and determination, she has persevered in the face of adversity. Her story is an inspiration to us all, reminding us of the power of the human spirit and the value of living a life of dignity, determination, and dedication.
