Linda Mae Hunter, age 68, of Brockton passed away at home surrounded by family and friends on July 3, 2015 after a battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Amelio L. Rivera and a large extended family of children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was born to Amelia “Emma” Pacheco and Harold Hunter Sr. in Plymouth on September 9, 1946 but resided in Brockton most of her life. Linda proudly drove a school bus for Brockton Public Schools and was a loyal employee of the bus company for over 39 years. She also sold Avon products for the last 25 years.
She leaves four birth daughters; Kimberly, Kellie, Amelia and Michelle Hunter and four adopted sons; Amalio, Xavier, Melvin and Samuel Rivera but was a mother to so many more. Linda opened her heart and home to countless children, so it would be unfair to say she had only eight children. She was blessed with plenty of grandchildren and great grandchildren that she joyfully loved. She was a wonderful mother and caring friend who will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 138) Brockton, Saturday 1-3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm.
