Livio "Leo" DiMarzio, 86, of Brockton, passed away after a few months of declining health on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born December 5, 1926 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Olivio and Crocifissa (Rizzi) DiMarzio. Known as "Leo" to all his friends, he and his wife were proud Brocktonians and resided there their entire lives. Leo served in The United States Army and was stationed in Egypt Germany. He was a long time member of the Whitman VFW. He worked in construction for many years and retired in 1988 from Southeastern Regional High School as a groundskeeper where he proudly designed and built the football field.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen (Smith) DiMarzio; his children , David DiMarzio and his wife Mary of Bridgewater , Phillip DiMarzio and his wife Terry of Stoughton, and Jan (DiMarzio) Foley and her husband Sean of Bridgewater. He was a loving grandfather to Jeffrey DiMarzio, Jennifer (DiMarzio) Cathcart, Matthew Foley, Olivia Foley, and Ariane DiMarzio. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Madison Brayden Cathcart and Thomas, Daniel, and Catherine DiMarzio.
He is survived by his one sister, Isoline Southwick of Stoughton and pre-deceased by his siblings, Amelia Murray, Orlando DiMarzio, Nancy Tarentino, Harry DiMarzio, and Dora Ellis. He is also the father of the late Paul Wayne DiMarzio. He was a loving husband, father, papa, great-grandfather, and a friend to many. He devoted his life to all his family and enjoyed his time with many friends.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT 123) Brockton on Wednesday, October 23rd at 9:30AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
