Obituary

Lorraine (Laurene) L. (Plourde) Adams, age 92, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2011 at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital in Houston, Texas with her grandsons, James J. Adams, III and Michael Adams at her bedside. She was the wife of the late James J. Adams, former School Committeeman and Brockton City Councilor. Lorraine was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Jane (Dubois) Plourde. She was a former member of the Women’s Guild of Brockton Hospital, representing the Guild on the hospital’s Board of Trustees. She was an avid reader, loved to cook and had been an active member of the Brockton Historical Society.

Mrs. Adams is survived by two sons James J. Adams Jr. of Manassas, VA and John E. Adams of Georgia, two daughters Mary Jane Lynch and her husband John of Plymouth and Michelle Adams of Brockton; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jeannette and Murielle Plourde and Reginald, Milton and Emerance Plourde.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, December 28, 5-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday at 10:30am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
