Obituary

Lorraine G. (Carlin) Mitchell of Brockton passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur “Franny” Mitchell, retired Brockton Fire Department. Lorraine was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Fay L. and Lula (Hart) Carlin and remained a lifelong resident of the city. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and the Brockton Beauty Academy and had been the proprietor of Lorraine’s Beauty Shop in Montello for many years.
Lorraine had been a beautician, model and dance instructor. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and being with her family.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Donna L. Haymes, principal of the Mary E. Baker Elementary School and her husband Dr. Arthur J. Haymes with whom she made her home. She was the loving grandmother of Danielle L. Currier-Haymes and Christopher W. Currier-Haymes both of Brockton.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 4-7 pm. Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Mary E. Baker P.T.A. 45 Quincy St. Brockton, MA 02302.
