Obituary

Lorraine A. Provost age 88 of Brockton died Wednesday October 24, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was born in Brockton a daughter of the late Hilaire and Delia (Nault) Provost and was a resident of Brockton for most of her life. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Brockton High School in 1943.

Lorraine’s working career was spent with the telephone company. She started as an operator with New England Telephone in Brockton and retired after 43 years as a manager in Boston.

She will be remembered for her love of her computer, her handmade greeting cards and her solitaire games. She enjoyed being with her friends at the Council on Aging Senior Center in Milton. Most especially she enjoyed being with her family at gatherings and events. Lorraine was devoted to her Catholic faith and always attributed life’s challenges to God’s will.

Lorraine was the sister of Rita Cribben and her husband Harold and made her home with them and their daughter Marie in Brockton. She also leaves her sister Theresa Maheux and her husband Joseph of Brockton and her brother Leo Provost and his wife Joan Wolent of East Bridgewater. She leaves 3 generations of many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings Paul, Charles, George and Albert Provost and Emelia Enemark.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday from 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 am followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 am. Burial to follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
