Online Obituaries Louis J. Halatsis, 79, of Rockland, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of the late Evangelia (Lamprou) Halatsis. Born July 25, 1933 in Moloxa, Thessaly, Greece, he was the son of the late Demetrios Halatsis and Efthimea (Gavardinas) Halatsis. Mr. Halatsis came from Greece to the United States in 1952 and has been a Rockland resident for over 48 years. He was the owner and operator of several restaurants. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. He is survived by his children, Demetra Moynihan and her husband Dennis of Mansfield and George Halatsis and his wife Marynel of Norwell; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Moynihan and his wife Sarah, Matthew Moynihan, Madison Halatsis, Melissa Halatsis and Miranda Halatsis; his sisters, Chrysoula Halatsis of Florida and Fotine Boutas of Canton; he is also survived by other siblings in Greece and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM.
