Obituary

Louis A. Piantoni, age 79 of Mansfield formerly of Brockton and Easton died Monday December 1, 2014 at the Braemoor Health Center. He was the devoted husband of Mary R. (Grant) Piantoni for 55 years. Lou was born in Brockton a son of the late Louis and Dorothy (James) Piantoni and was a 1952 graduate of Brockton High School and Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis in 1967.
Since the age of ten, Lou had been involved with the family run business Dorothy Lou Pastry Shop in Brockton. He retired at the age of 72 and was a member and past president of the Mass. Retail Bakers Association. Lou was also a member of the Easton Jaycees and the Easton Lions Club. He had been a member of the Lions for over 50 years and was a recipient of the Melvin Jones award and a past president of the club.
Lou also enjoyed golfing and gardening and was a charter member of the Holy Cross Parish in Easton. Lou’s true joy in life was his family and he was the biggest supporter of his grandchildren and attended all their performances and games.
Lou was the father of Robin E. Maxwell and her husband Guy of Middleboro, Erin C. Piantoni of Mansfield, Holly A. Piantoni of San Diego and the late Dawn M. Piantoni and grandfather of Timothy and Bonnie Maxwell. He was the brother of Joan Moore and Dorothy Perewicz both of Brockton and the late Barbara Crean. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 4-7 pm. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Friday at 8:30 am for a Funeral Mass in St. Mary Church 202 Pratt St., Mansfield at 10:00am. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
