Lucille Patricia (Ciavarra) Kent, 94, of Brockton, passed away peacefully at her home on December 2, 2024, under the care of hospice and surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward Francis Kent Sr.

Lucille, fondly known as "Dolly," was born in Brockton, MA, on August 13, 1930, to the late Pasquale and Margaret (Marino) Ciavarra. A 1948 graduate of Brockton High School, she went on to attend the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. While commuting to school in 1949, she met Ed, the love of her life. The couple married in 1956 and shared 66 wonderful years together until Ed's passing in 2022.

Dolly played a pivotal role in managing Kent Products, the family business specializing in the manufacturing and sale of pewter jewelry and hollowware. She thrived as the "front of the house," managing the retail store and delighting in socializing with customers. She cherished the opportunity to work alongside her children and her husband, Ed.

Following the Kent Products years, Dolly accompanied Ed on business trips for Mitek, the surgical device company he worked for. She enthusiastically "worked the booths" at conferences, engaging with attendees and leaving an impression on nearly everyone she met.

A talented and passionate cook, Dolly hosted frequent dinner parties for family and friends, creating a warm and inviting home where everyone loved to gather. Her energy and enthusiasm for entertaining were boundless.

Dolly adored spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family has fond memories of day trips and vacations to Cape Cod, a special trip to Bermuda to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary, and Disney adventures with her children and grandchildren.

It was Dolly's wish to remain in her home as she aged, a wish fulfilled through the extraordinary love and care of Lolita, who lived with her, as well as the dedicated support of Michelle and Rosie.

Dolly is survived by her children: Edward F. Kent Jr. and his wife Lisa, John J. Kent and his wife Janet, William C. Kent and his wife Lee, and Maura A. (Kent) Thursby and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Andy Kent, Alex Kent, Jack Kent, Matt Kent, Maddy Thursby, James Thursby, Ted Thursby, and Corinna Kent.

A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West Street, Brockton, December 7th at 10:30 AM .
