Obituary

Lucille M. “Lucy” (Beneduci) Nelson age 79 of Brockton died Saturday January 22, 2022 at the Brockton Hospital/Signature Care Center. She was the devoted wife of the late Roy L. Nelson.

Lucy was born in Harrisburg, PA and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Mario and Myrtle (Davis) Beneduci and remained a longtime resident of Brockton. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and also attended LeBaron School of Hair Dressing.

While her daughters were young, she was a stay at home mother devoted to her family and home. When they were older, Lucy was a laundry aid at the Madalawn and Braemoor Nursing Homes in Brockton.

In her free time, Lucy enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles and most importantly, time with her grandchildren.

Lucy was the mother of Louise Gallagher of Halifax and the late Elisa Godwin wife of Bill Godwin. She leaves six grandchildren Cory Nelson, Cassandra Godwin, Brandon Gallagher, Jessica DeFranco, Katelyn Gallagher and Marissa Corrigan and four great grandchildren Katerina, Jamie, Victoria and Roighn.

A private graveside service was held at Melrose Cemetery.
