Lynette M. Flemmings, a resident of Brockton, MA, passed away and joined the Lord on March 22, 2024. Born in Lavintil Port of Spain, Trinidad on January 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louisa Stewart. Known lovingly as "Ma'' by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Ma and her husband, Roy Arthur, along with their two children, immigrated to the United States in the early 1970s. Ma attended Roxbury Community College in Roxbury, MA, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Business Management. She embarked on her career in the banking field, starting as a Teller at Fleet Bank and gradually working her way up to become a branch supervisor. Later, she joined Citizens Bank in the same capacity. Finally, Ma served as an Administrative Assistant at Mark IV Transportation & Logistics until her retirement in the fall of 2023.
Ma exemplified boundless compassion and love. Her heart overflowed with genuine kindness, extending to everyone she encountered. She is an altruist who selflessly assisted others, regardless of the challenges they faced. A devout child of God, she faithfully attended church every Sunday, warmly inviting friends and family to embrace the Lord's presence in their lives.
Ma, a remarkable cook, relished social and family gatherings. She consistently prepared homemade dishes like Macaroni Pie, Potato Salad, Callaloo and Crab, Stew Chicken, Rice and Peas, Sweet Bread, and Black Cake for events. At night, she would watch movies while nibbling on snacks in bed. Her late-night phone conversations with close friends and family often extended until 3 am. A true social butterfly, Ma cherished connecting with loved ones and will be deeply missed.
Lynette's life was preceded in passing by her parents, Joseph and Louisa Stewart, her daughter Danella Foster-Stewart, and her siblings Rosanna, Sandra, Girlie, and Martin Stewart. Her legacy lives on through her children: Tweed Arthur (daughter-in-law Tasha), Lynch Arthur, Marsha Arthur, and Troy Stewart. Fond memories of Lynette will be cherished by her grandchildren: Asia Young-Arthur, Dashaun Arthur, Taylor Arthur, Claudelande Chevallier, Dexter Chevallier, C.J. Chevallier, Chianne Arthur, Chane Arthur, and Brianna Belcher. Additionally, her great-grandchildren Ashton Young, Autumn Young, Avery Belcher, and Quincy Belcher will carry her memory forward. Lynette also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Curt, Wendy, Nicole, HollyAnn (deceased), Ricardo, Mickey (deceased), Michelle, and Nigel, along with a host of great nieces and nephews.
