Lynn Carberry-Sweeney, 67, of Stoughton passed away in the early hours of Saturday, July 1, 2023, with her husband, Rich by her side.
While Lynn was born on September 5, 1955 in Ashtabula, Ohio, she grew up locally in Swansea, with her parents and three brothers. She attended high school at Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Massasoit Community College with an Associates in Accounting.
Growing up next to the ocean, the water was a second home to her, and she spent several years working on a fishing boat, before settling into accounting and retail work.
Lynn was an avid reader and loved all types of music which showed in her collections of both CD's and novels. She was a lover of all things Snoopy and Wonder Woman. Lynn began every day with a cup of coffee from her local Dunkies and loved a bowl of ice cream. She was a spirited woman with a passion for life.
Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Joseph Carberry and Ann Marie Carberry of Swansea; and her brother, Daniel Carberry of Tiverton, Rhode Island.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Sweeney of Stoughton; her son Justin Carberry and his wife Nicole Sargent-Carberry of Falmouth; her brothers Joseph Carberry of Plymouth and Michael Carberry of Swansea; her mother-in-law Eveyln Sweeney of Plymouth, as well as a large extended family.
Visitation will be held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home 441 South Main Street West Bridgewater on Wednesday July 5th from 5 to 8 pm. Her mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center Street, Bridgewater, MA on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery 483 North Main Street, West Bridgewater.
