Mablene Pryor Bennett was born on August 11, 1950 to the late Leroy and Bernice Pryor, Little River, SC. She graduated from the public schools of Horry County, SC in 1968. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church.
She moved to Boston, MA in 1969 and she met the love of her life – Edward Lee Bennett. They were joined in holy matrimony in 1972. She was an employee of Arthur Anderson and Company and retired in 1996.
Mablene was an active member of the Brockton Community. She was a volunteer for various organizations. The most deserving volunteering was the National Night Out Against Crime along with her work at the courthouse. A great supporter of the Brockton Rox, Brockton High School Football Team and all of the activities of her children and granddaughters.
After a lengthy illness, Mablene departed this life on February 17, 2020 with her family at her bedside. Her parents and husband – Edward Lee Bennett preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son-Brent Bennett; one daughter-Valarie Bennett-Cotton(Karmau); two granddaughters-Althea Bennett and Jasmine Bennett-Cotton: two sisters-Eva Thompson(Eddie) and Leretta Orr(James); one brother-Nathan Jones; two aunts; one uncle; three sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; a special friend-Jennine Hight; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless number of friends.
Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, February 21st from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
