Maho Bogucanin
, 86, of Brockton, died Saturday, September 17, 2011. He was the devoted husband of the late Maria (Arnberger) Bogucanin.
Maho was born May 10, 1925 in the former Yugoslavia. He came to the United States in 1952 to seek a better life for his family. The family lived in the Back Bay Boston for many years prior to moving to Brockton. In 1960 he was honored at MIT's Kresge Auditorium and was presented an award for being an outstanding refugee from among the state's 50,000 refugees.
He was employed for many years by Raytheon and worked on precision parts for the Air Force's B-52 bomber. Maho later worked as a machinist for Rofor Companies prior to retiring.
He was the loving father of Kimeta Peterson and her husband Peter of Brockton, Zineta Shippee of Braintree and Fatima Lovell and her husband Earle of Norwell. He adored his five grandchildren, Leeanne Shippee-Burke, Peter M. Peterson, Jr., Dianne Shippee, Michael Shippee, and the late Suzzanne Johnson who he joins in heaven along with his wife Maria. He also leaves nine great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Christopher, Makaylah, Alexis, Hailey, Meghan, Timothy Jr., Brooke and Jayden.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Thursday at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Wednesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
