, 13, a 7th grade student at the Gilmore Academy in Brockton died suddenly Thursday, March 20, 2008 at his home in Brockton.
Born October 12, 1994 in Stoughton, he was the son of Mary N. Monroe and Warol F. Prentice.
Maliq was a lifelong Brockton resident attending Tinker Bell Kindergarten School, The Plouffe Elementary School, the South Shore Christian Academy, and was currently a 7th grade student at the Gilmore Academy.
Maliq was an avid sports fan he enjoyed playing Basketball and was proud to wear #53 for the Brockton Junior Boxers Football team. He also enjoyed baseball, karate, lifting weights, dancing, video games, participating in talent shows, and most of all, enjoyed telling jokes. He currently attended the Kingdom Church of God In Christ in Brockton and had previously gone to Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Roxbury.
He is survived by his parents, Mary N. Monroe of Brockton and Warol F. Prentice; his brother, Aaron Christian of Randolph; his grandparents, Juanita Nurse of Brockton and John Monroe of Dorchester; his aunt, Johnnie N.A. Monroe of Brockton; his cousin Josiah N.A. Monroe of Brockton; his God Mother, Angela Sawyer; his God Fathers, Neil Nurse and Wayne Smalls; he is also survived by several grand aunts, grand uncles, and friends and family.
Funeral Information
Calling hours will be held in the Kingdom Church of God In Christ, 700 Crescent St., Brockton on Tuesday from 4:00-6:00PM followed by a funeral service in the church at 6:00PM. Private cremation will follow.
