Manuel Cardoso (NhoNho) aka Manny Cardoza passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, after a lengthy illness at Champions Rehabilitation and Nursing in Brockton.

Born on August 5, 1937, in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of the late Joao Cardoso and Antonia Da Silva.

Manny is survived by his son Manny Cardoza Jr. of Taunton, daughters Colleen Barros of Falmouth, and Dawn Cardoza of Marston Mills, brother Joao Pedro Cardoso of Central Falls, RI, sisters Eugenia (Djini) Andrade and Regina Cardoso of Brockton, Guilhermina Cardoso de Pina of Cape Verde, loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Cardoza, sons Eric and John, and daughter Annette Bond.

Manny emigrated to the United States in 1951. He spent 2 years in the army and did a variety of work including driving trucks for various companies, the last of which was for a sub-contractor for the postal service.

Manny was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend. He was cherished by many friends and family and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a great sense of humor, was generous with all he met, and always wanted the best for people. He loved animals, especially his dog, "Squirt".

Calling hours will be at Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA on Thursday, June 1st from 5 to 8 pm. Private cremation to follow.
