Manuel Eduardo Lopes Manuel Eduardo Alberto Lopes, 62, of Brockton died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Deolinda (Andrade) Lopes. Born June 29, 1946 in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of Alberto Lopes and the late Luiza (Miranda) Lopes. Raised in Portugal he worked for Portugal Telecom for 22 years and he was also a 1st Class Firefighter in Portugal for 17 years. After moving to Brockton, he worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Facility Manager at University of Massachusetts for the last 12 years. He enjoyed fishing and helping people. He is survived by his wife, Deolinda Lopes of Brockton; his children, Luis Alberto Rodeia Ramos Lopes, Manuel Eduardo Rodeia Ramos Lopes, Paulo Alexandre Rodeia Ramos Lopes, Luisa Isabel Rodeia Ramos Lopes, Hugo Miguel Rodeia Ramos Lopes, and Daphany Correia Lopes; his grandchildren, Catia Lopes, Luis Daniel Lopes, Serena Lopes, Zeiana Lopes Andrade, Julian Lopes, Sara Lopes; his father, Alberto Lopes; his sisters, Maria Fatima "Nininha"Dasilva, Virginia "Lucinda" DaRosa , Antonia Pires and Fatima "Baia" Lopes.
