Manuel R. "Amilcar" Miranda
Manuel Ramos "Amilcar" Miranda, 48, of Brockton, died Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
Born May 2, 1960 in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was the son of Ilda (Mendes) Miranda of Brockton and the late Lidio Ramos Miranda.
Mr. Miranda was the Supervisor of the Interpreters at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was a member of the Brockton Public School Superintendent's Advisory Council, member of the Cape Verdean Association, Chair and Founding member of the Humanitarians Council of the Cape Verdean Association, and Producer of Brockton Local Cable Television program "Arco-Iris".
He has been a Brockton resident since 1986 and enjoyed doing community work, sports, and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Eugenia (Lopes) Miranda; his children, Kenny Barros, Ayla Santos, Jeselene Andrade, and Sandra Miranda; his mother Ilda (Mendes) Miranda; his brothers and sisters, Henrique Canuto, Licinio, Jubeleu, Joaquim, and Lidio Miranda, Antonio Rodrigues, Manuel Miranda, Maria S. Rodrigues, Erminda Goncalves, Maria Miranda, Maria Terasa Miranda, Erminda Miranda, and Marcelina Canuto.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, August 16th at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Friday 5:00-9:00PM.
