Marcelino Silva, 103, of Brockton, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Palmira A. Silva. Born January 21, 1915 in Fogo, Cape Verde, he was a son of the late Miguel Barros and Maria Silva. Raised and educated in Cape Verde, Marcelino worked as a supervisor in the construction industry for many years. He was a communicant of the former St. Margaret's Church in Brockton and more recently St. Edith Stein Parish in Brockton. Marcelino enjoyed a good game of cards. He was just a nice man with a kind spirit. Many people loved him, he will truly be missed. He is survived by his children, Leopoldina Da Silva, Maria Silva, Augusto Andrade Silva and Anibal A. Da Silva; his sister, Julia Andrade. Marcelino is also survived by his several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT 123) Brockton on Wednesday, February 14th at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00PM-9:00PM.
