Obituary

Marcia Ann (Thimas) Simison, went home to be with her heavenly father on November 5, 2020. She was the wife of Francis Simison. Born on January 30, 1947, in Plymouth, Mass to the late Mary P (Almeida) Gomes and Ernie Gomes. She was raised in Plymouth, and attended Plymouth public schools, graduating from Plymouth Carver Regional, and was a member of the first graduating class of 1966. Marcia worked as a teacher at Brockton Day Nursery for many years. She loved working as a teacher and shared her passion with thousands of children over the years, retiring in 2016. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Marcia, being around her family, and watching her grandchildren grow. She often explored Nantasket beach for fresh air and, of course, a bite of sand! She enjoyed her yearly trips to FL to visit her grandchildren and see the ocean views. She loved her collection of pigs. Besides her loving husband Francis she leaves to cherish her memories her son; Richard Thimas, sister's Anita Gomes and Michelle Gomes, grandchildren; Manuel (Chase) Bullock, Tatiana Betancourt, Alexia Thimas, Richard Thimas Jr, and Lilyanna Damon, great-grandchildren; Aspen and Aubrey Cooper. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, sister in law to Michael Twomey and Joan, John and Nancy Simison, and a host of other family and friends. She was the mother of the late Annamarie (Pebbles) Thimas and sister of the late Rosalind (Rozzy) Gomes and Phillip Gomes and sister in law of the late Dave Simison.
