Margaret (Peg) Joyce, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in Brockton Hospital on January 22, 2026 at the age of 91. She was born in 1934 to Christopher and Katherine Joyce (Fitzgibbons), with siblings John, David, and Katherine, all of whom predeceased her.

Margaret dedicated her professional life to education. She received her undergraduate and masters degree from Bridgewater State College. She taught elementary students for 33 years at the Burnell School in Bridgewater and was delighted by the many times she ran into former students in and around Bridgewater. She also trained teachers as part of the faculty of Bridgewater State College.

Beyond the classroom, Margaret was deeply involved in her church, and her faith was her guide and comfort. She loved adventure and traveled widely in the U.S. and Europe including multiple trips to her beloved Ireland. Margaret also made a pilgrimage to the site of Our Lady of Medjugorje. Margaret was very social and always ready for a get together. She took great joy in cooking, entertaining, playing games and cards, and watching the Red Sox and Patriots. Margaret also immersed herself in chronicling her family's history—an enduring gift to those who survive her.

Margaret was raised and lived in Randolph, Massachusetts before settling in Bridgewater at High Pond Estates, where she enjoyed a community of many friends and activities. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and faith. She is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families, who will cherish her memory and miss her dearly.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 3rd at 10:30 AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater followed by interment in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 2nd from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St., West Bridgewater.
