Mara of Halifax, formerly of Brockton March 14, 2002, Margaret M. (McAuliffe) Mara, 74 years. Loving wife of D. Joseph Mara. Loving mother of Daniel J. Mara and his wife Elena of Hanson; William E. Mara and his wife Dona of CA; Mary-Jo Deignan and her husband Edward of Halifax; Kathleen A. Rideout and her husband Wayne of Halifax and Bruce T. Mara of CA. Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 7:45 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lake Church, Rte 58, Halifax at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 3-8 pm. Mrs. Mara died unexpectedly Thursday evening at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth after being stricken ill at her home. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of the late John J. and Mary A. (Dowd) McAuliffe. She was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of St. Patrick High School. And the former Williams Business School.

For the past 15 years she has been a resident of Halifax previously living in Brockton. When living in Brockton she was employed by Old Colony Elderly Services. Since her retirement she and her husband have been volunteers for the Meals-on-Wheels program in Halifax.She enjoyed traveling and time spent with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lake Church, Halifax.
