Obituary

Margaret A. “Peggy” Totten, age 66, of East Bridgewater, died unexpectedly December 8, 2022 at the Brockton Hospital-Signature Healthcare. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn Harkins and was a 1974 graduate of Brockton High School.

For over 30 years, Peggy worked in the office of Mutual Oil Company in Brockton and then later at Dennis Burke Oil in Taunton. She will be remembered as a team player at work who was organized, very outgoing, affectionate and generous. Peggy enjoyed bird watching and feeding the animals and was very compassionate to rescue animals.

Peggy also enjoyed taking walks on the beach, dining out and card night with her friends.


She was the sister of Donna Harkins and Tara Harkins.

Services will be held at a later date. Donations in Peggy’s name may be made to the MSPCA and WINSLOW ANIMAL FARM SANCTUARY
