Margaret F. (Walsh) Silvestri age 86 of Brockton died Thursday November 10, 2011 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel C. Silvestri.
Margaret was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late John D. and Margaret (Sullivan) Walsh and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1943 graduate of Brockton High School, Margaret had been a special education aide at the Downey Elementary School in Brockton for over 20 years. She was an avid cook and loved to bake. Margaret will be remembered as the caregiver of immediate and extended family. She tended to the needs of her parents, husband, children, grandchildren and several other family members. She had been a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Church.
Margaret is survived by her two daughters Maria Silvestri – Wylie and her husband James of Plymouth and Tina M. Silvestri and her husband Stephen Young of Sudbury and her two grandchildren Jordan and Michaela Wylie. She was the sister of Elizabeth Boyer of Palm Harbour, Florida, Nancy Gullbrants of Brockton and the late John Dewey Walsh, Jr. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 2-5 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8 am followed by a Funeral Mass
