Maria A. "Bila" Galvao, 56, passed away peacefully Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 10, 1966 in Fogo, Cape Verde she was the daughter of the late Filipe and  Maria C. (Gonsalves) Galvao.

Maria was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1984. She worked for many years as a machine operator in the clothing industry. Her family describes her as a fashionista and loved spending time decorating her home.

She is survived by her two sons; Anthony Galvao and Franklin Tejeda; a grandson, Kayden and her siblings; Lizita Monteiro, Josepha Gomes, Cedcidonio Galvao, Sara Galvao, Laura Galvao, Orlando Galvao and Filipe Galvao, Jr. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of close friends.

Her family would like to thank the staff at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center on both the East & West campuses for there fine care and compassion they showed her and them during the past several months.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton on Saturday, October 8th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Friday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM.
