Born September 26, 1929 in Cape Verde, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Gomes and Hortencio (DoConto) Gomes Maria enjoyed praying, music, cooking, sewing, gardening and mostly spending time with family. She is survived by her children, Isabel Afonso, Fortunato Afonso, Maria Gonclaves, Eugenia F. Mendes, Roberto F. Afonso, Ezulina F. Afonso, Emilia F. Afonso, Eristina F. Afonso and Domingos F. Afonso; her siblings, Frisco Gomes and Maria DaGraco Gomes; she is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Saturday, May 19th at 8:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 9:00AM.
