Born January 10, 1933 in Ribeira ilheu, Fogo, Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Niculao Vaz DePina and Ernestina Vaz Pires. Maria was an extraordinary woman with a kind, loving and gentle soul. She loved to care and tend to all those around her. She was passionate about making others happy through stories and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all those that were fortunate to create everlasting memories with her. She is survived by her husband Francisco Barbosa Amado; her sons, Manuel Barbosa Amado, Alfredo Barbosa Amado and Virgilio Barbosa Amado, and loving daughter Adelaide Amado. She is also survived by many adored siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria was an extraordinary woman with a kind, loving and gentle soul.
