Maria Santa (Andrade) Cula, 96, of Brockton passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, February 2, 2023. She was the wife of the late Manuel Antonio Cardoso Cula.

Born in Fogo, Cape Verde on January 20, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Francisco Andrade and Maria Jesus (Veiga) Andrade.

She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially during the holidays. She was the pillar of strength to all who knew her, and her loss will be felt by all who were blessed to have met her.

Maria is survived by her children Olivio Cardoso, Manuel Cula, Francisca Cardoso, Maria DaLuz Lopes, Maria Eugenia Gomes, Cula Cardoso, Angela Suzete Cardoso-Fontes. As well as her 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Manuel Antonio Cardoso Cula, her son Eugenio Cardoso, and siblings Mauricio DeAndrade, Maria Andrade Teixeira, Idalina DeAndrade, and Ilda DeAndrade. She leaves behind her cousins, many nieces and nephews, and godchildren all of whom she adored.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton on Wednesday, February 8th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Tuesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM.
