Born January 18, 1939 in Praia, Cape Verde she was a daughter of the late Manuel Ferreira and Maria Julia Duarte. Maria loved helping others. She would have given the shirt off her back if she could to help someone out. Maria loved baking and cooking, most of all she loved her old school music. She is survived by her children, Jose Arlindo Duarte Couto, Avelino Manuel Duarte Couto, Julia Maria Duarte Couto, Maria Jose Duarte Couto, Fernanda Maria Duarte Couto-Matos, Ana Virginia Duarte Couto-Lima, Fernando Augusto Duarte Couto and Isabel Maria Duarte; her 24 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Funeral Information Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 27th from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Interment will take place in Cape Verde.
