Maria (Michailidis) Fitopoulos, 48, of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the loving wife of Nicholas Fitopoulos.
Born September 16, 1964 in Edessa, Greece, she was the daughter of Androklis "Mike the Tailor" Michailidis of Brockton and the late Anastasia (Karaoglanidou) Michailidis. Her family immigrated to Reading, PA when she was a young child and then moved to Brockton in 1976 where she attended Brockton Public Schools and graduated from Brockton High School in 1983. After graduation, she attended Mount Ida College where she studied fashion design and then became employed at Bloomingdale's in Brookline. In 1990, she along with her family co-founded Glad Acres Cleaners in West Bridgewater and Brockton where she managed the finances.
Maria was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton. She was deeply involved in several of it's ministries including the Youth Group and the Ladies Philoptochos Society where she served on the board.
Maria was a kind and loving person who was always helping others and would never say no. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was the heart and soul of her family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Fitopoulos; her children, Teddy, Andy and Nicky Fitopoulos; her father, Androklis "Mike the Tailor" Michailidis; her brother, Nick Michailidis.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Tuesday, March 26th at 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Monday 4:00-8:00PM.
