Maria D. "Vovo Linda" Fontes Maria D. "Vovo Linda" Fontes , 96, of Brockton died Friday, August 20, 2010 at her home under the care of hospice and her family. She was the wife of the late Manuel G. Fontes. Born January 8, 1914 in Cape Verde, she was a daughter of the late Antonio DaLuz and Maria (Veiga) DaLuz. Maria came to the U.S. in 1977. She was known to all as "everybody's Vovo". She is survived by her children, Maria G., Antonio, Manuel, Maria P. and Rita L. Fontes; her siblings, Zulmira and Aguinaldo Ribeiro. She is also survived by her 28 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Wednesday at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:30AM.
