Maria C. Galvao, 76, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020, peacefully at her home in Brockton under the care of hospice surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Filipe Galvao. Born in Fogo, Cape Verde, on July 3, 1943, Maria was the daughter of the late Vasco Rodrigues and Adelaide (Goncalves) Rodrigues. Maria is survived by her children, Lizita Monteiro, Josefa Gomes, Maria A. Galvao, Sal Galvao, Sara Galvao, Laura Galvao, Orlando Galvao, and Filipe Galvao, Jr; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Anna Fernandes, Aldevina Goncalves, Alina Fernandes, Otelio Rodrigues and Silverio Alves. She was also the sister of the late Celsidonio Goncalves, Humberto Goncalves and Irene Alves. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Old Colony Hospice for the care they provided for Maria. Funeral serviced will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, February 17th at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00-8:00PM.
