, 49, of Boston, died unexpectedly, Friday, December 12, 2008 in Boston.
Born May 21, 1959 in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the daughter of Julia Silva Cardoso and her 2nd mother, Maria DaSilva. Maria came to Roxbury, Massachusetts from Cape Verde at the age of eight. She was raised in Roxbury and worked at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Food Services Department.
She enjoyed cooking and helping the elderly in her neighborhood. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church in Boston.
She is survived by her children, Monique Desiree Silva and Joshua Paul Silva; her grandchild, Gabriella Desiree Silva; her sisters and brothers, Domingas Prior and her husband Keith, Francisco DaSilva and his wife Ruthie Czaja, Joao DaSilva, Elena Centeio and her husband Tony Smith, Tony Centeio, Paul DaSilva, Kathy DaSilva, and Lucia Centeio; her loving aunt, Palinha Soares; she is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, December 17th at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edward/St Edith Stein Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 5:00-9:00PM.
