Maria was born in the small town of Kandila, Arcadia, Greece to the late Dimitrios and Giannoula (Ziazias) Karzis, and died at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton, Mass on October 11,2019. She was 98 She moved with her family to Athens Greece in the late 40s and she came to the USA in 1966 after marrying her late husband Eric Terzis. Maria and Eric lived in Dorchester, West Roxbury, Santa Rosa California and Stoughton, Mass. Maria worked for the Rust Craft Card Company in Dedham Mass until her retirement. She was a talented seamstress, a great cook and she loved to invite family and friends for dinner. She was a devoted Greek Orthodox and a member of the Brockton Annunciation Greek Orthodox church. Maria was predeceased by three brothers, Panos, Michael & George and three sisters, Eugenia, Eleni & Vasso . She is survived by her dear sister and best friend Kalliopi Smernes of Santa Rosa California, and her many beloved nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, Florida and Greece and many friends. Maria's Family wishes to thank Marilyn Mc Gettigan, Unit B's Nurse Manager of the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton for all her support and the exceptional tender love and care she gave to Maria the last 105 days of her life. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 AM in the CHURCH.
