Marie Rosemine (Exantus) Charlot, 81, of Canton passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. She was the wife of the late Beausejour J. Charlot. Born in Dessalines, Haiti on October 28, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Octavius Exantus and Beaucilia Sejour. In 1979, she came to live in Boston. With no formal schooling, Marie worked hard to ensure her children had more opportunities. They took full advantage, achieving highly in the fields of Administration, technology, cybersecurity and the hospitality industry. 1n 1989, Marie and Beausejour opened Bon Appetit Restaurant in Dorchester, which remains in operation today. With her children grown and successful, Bon Appetit became her life. She gloried in providing familiar comfort food to Boston's Haitian diaspora community, as well introducing folks from other backgrounds to the flavors and hospitality of Haiti. Her smiling face and upbeat demeanor welcomed thousands of diners for over 30 years. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Beausejour and her sisters Amelie Phanord and Marie Saintania Exantus Youte. She is survived by her sister Limone Exantus; her children: Firmin (Stephanie) Charlot, Chrismin Charlot, Linda Charlot Wallace and Price Charlot; her grandchildren: Brianna, Alexander and Ethan Charlot, Chrisman (Jr.) and Christopher Charlot, and Angela and Veronica Wallace; and countless nieces and nephews.
