Marie T. Ivens, age 84, of Falmouth passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Keystone Place at Buzzards Bay, Bourne, MA.
Born in Boston and brought up in Alston, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Griffin) Leavey.
Marie worked as a secretary in Boston for many years before retiring to Falmouth then to North Fort Myers, Florida. She spent her free time with family and friends, walking her dog, watching John Wayne movies, or listening to her favorite music. Marie will be remembered for her love of family, kindness to all, and her ability to laugh in any situation. She was often referred to as strong willed and feisty.
She is survived by her three daughters, Donna Moffat and her husband David of North Fort Myers, FL, Sharon Halter and her husband David of Brockton, Eileen Ivens of Falmouth, and Marc Weinstock, who was like a son; her siblings, Joseph Leavey of Newton, James Leavey of Portland, CT, Fred Leavey of Quincy, and predeceased by her brother, Francis Leavey, Jr.; seven grandchildren, Breanna Keese, James Keese, Arianna Moffat, Troy Moffat, Derek Moffat, Daniel Halter, and Kayden Halter; four great grandchildren, Kylee Fiallo, Richard Noberini, Teddy Keese, and Matilda Keese.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Her funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 10:00 am, for a funeral mass at 11:00 am, at Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, South Easton. Interment will be on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 12:00 noon, in Evergreen Cemetery, in Brighton.
