Lowry, of Brockton, January 6, 2006, Marie (Souza) Lowry 82 years. Wife of the late Richard E. Lowry Sr. Beloved mother of Susanne M. Lowry of Brockton, Patricia A. Lowry and her husband David Gunther of Quincy and Richard E. Lowry, Jr. of Bridgewater; niece of Alice Jason of Cohasset and cousin of Phyllis McClay of Marshfield.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9am. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7pm.

Obituary Information

Marie (Souza) Lowry 82 years, of Brockton, died Friday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in Tewksbury, she was the daughter of the late Alvera Souza. She was raised in Abington and was a graduate of Abington High School and the Quincy Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Registered Nursing degree. After her graduation she joined the US Army Nurse Corp where she served during WWII and Korea, attaining the rank of Captain. While in the Army she and her husband the late Richard E. Lowry, Sr., traveled extensively throughout Europe. For the past 50 years she had been a resident of Brockton, enjoyed cooking, reading and her dog Ben.

She is survived by two daughters Susanne M. Lowry of Brockton, Patricia A. Lowry and her husband David Gunther of Quincy and Richard E. Lowry, Jr. of Bridgewater; an aunt Alice Jason of Cohasset and cousin Phyllis McClay of Marshfield.
