Online Obituaries Marie C. (Dantono) MacDonald, formerly of Brockton, died on May 30, 2015 at the Pat Roche Hospice Residence in Hingham MA surrounded by her loving daughters, Carolyn, Elaine and Susan. Marie was born on the east side of Brockton Massachusetts in 1925 to Italian immigrant parents, Giuseppe Dantono and Concetta Colombo. Marie graduated from Brockton High School in 1943 and then went on to graduate from Williams Business School. Marie worked many years as an executive secretary to the manager of the Brockton division of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Marie loved to dance, so it was apt that she met her husband, Charles J. MacDonald, (a now deceased Brockton Police Officer), at a dance at Mosley's on the Charles in Dedham MA. For many years thereafter, Marie and her husband Charles followed several live dance bands with her sisters and friends. Marie was a member of the Brockton Police Wives Association and the Italian Mother's Club. She was a parishioner at St Coleman's Church in Brockton, St Margaret's Church in Brockton and later at St Ann's in West Bridgewater. Marie is survived by her daughter Carolyn MacDonald, Carolyns fianc, Ty Powell, her daughters Elaine Ryan and Susan Fernandes, and her son-in-law, Kevin Fernandes. She leaves her 2 granddaughters, Krista Fernandes and Stephanie Rose Fernandes. In addition, Marie is survived by her sisters, Carmela DelMastro and Rose Maloney, her brother in law, John F. Maloney, her niece, Diane Zarrilli, and nephew, Jack Maloney, all of Florida. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Monday, June 8th from 11:00AM-1:00PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
