Marie G. (McCarthy) Maroney, 89, of West Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at her home under the care of her family and hospice. Born October 9, 1928 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Thomas McCarthy and Katherine (Kenney) McCarthy. Marie enjoyed reading, walking and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William P. Maroney; her children, William P. Maroney, Jr. and his wife Sheri of Whitman, Deborah A. Maguire and her companion Roland DeSimone of Easton, Gregory M. Maroney and his wife Sherry of Lakeville and Paul F. Maroney of RI; her grandchildren, Emmett Maguire, Rory Maguire, William Maroney and his wife Melissa, Shawna Maroney, Brandon Maroney, Taylor Maroney and Shelley Maroney; her great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sophia Maroney. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Monday, February 5th from 9:00AM – 11:00AM followed by a prayer service at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Old Colony Hospice or Massachusetts Breast Cancer Research.
