Online Obituaries Marie C. (Lepera) Pelaggi of Brockton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 after a long and happy life lived well. She was 96. Marie was the beloved wife of the late (1984) Frank A. Pelaggi for 44 years. Born in Watertown, Ma on January 29, 1920, Marie was the daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Lepera. She lived the majority of her childhood in Revere, Ma, graduating from Revere High School in 1938. She attended The Whidden Memorial School of Nursing in Everett, Ma. Marie gave generously of her time and participation in P.M. Womans Club, where she was past president. She was a member of Phaneuf Hospital Auxiliary, Brockton Garden Club and an initial planner of the first sheltered workshop for special needs children known as BAARC. Both Marie and Frank were active in civic organizations together including Italian American Veterans Association, Kiwanis Club, and participants in fundraisers for St Margarets Church. She enjoyed many summers with family and friends at Swifts Beach and Parkwood Beach. In recent years, Marie was active with the Brockton Council on Aging and the Senior choral group of Brockton. She was also a member of Thorny Lea Golf Club of Brockton for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with children and extended family. Marie is survived by her five children: Frank A., of Bethlehem, Pa; Robert J., of Brockton; Shirley M.; of Needham, Ma.; Barry R., of Hollywood, Fl. And Steven D., of Brockton. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Friday, May 6th at 9:30AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West Street Brockton where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.
