Marie Frances (Spillane) Slowey, 80 years, of Monument Beach, Mass passed away on Friday January 22, 2010 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Richard E. Slowey for 56 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Timothy J. and Irene (Sullivan) Spillane. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Nardi.
Mrs. Slowey was born and raised in Brockton. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1947 and continued her education at the Chandler Business School. Marie was a homemaker devoted to her home and family. She lived for many years in Medfield and Westfield with her family.
Marie will be remembered as a true lady who enjoyed time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her six children Jean Kisonas and her husband John; John Slowey and his wife Kandy; Catherine Davidson; Steven Slowey and his wife Melinda; Ellen Johnson and her husband Donald; and Mary Slowey. She was a devoted grandmother to her granddaughters Adrienne Kisonas, Krystle Slowey, Bridget Davidson and Caitlin Johnson and grandsons Sean and Robert Slowey and Derek Johnson. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton on Wednesday 3 to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday at St. Ann Church 103 N. Main St. West Bridgewater, MA at 11 am. The burial will take place on Friday at 11 am at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA.
